Peer Review Policy

Purpose:

The Asian Bulletin of Business and Social Science Research (ABBSSR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence in scholarly publishing. Peer review is an essential component of ensuring the quality, validity, and originality of the research published in ABBSSR.

Peer Review Process:

Submission: Upon submission of a manuscript to ABBSSR, the editorial office will conduct an initial assessment to ensure that the submission adheres to the journal's scope and formatting guidelines.

Editorial Review: Following the initial assessment, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will assign the manuscript to appropriate reviewers with expertise in the subject matter. Reviewers will be selected based on their knowledge, experience, and absence of conflicts of interest with the authors.

Double-blind Review: ABBSSR follows a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both the authors and reviewers are concealed from each other to ensure impartiality and eliminate potential biases.

Review Criteria: Reviewers will evaluate manuscripts based on various criteria, including but not limited to:

originality and significance of the research.

methodological rigor and appropriateness.

clarity and coherence of presentation.

contribution to the existing body of knowledge.

ethical considerations and compliance with academic standards.

Reviewer Recommendations: Reviewers will provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the editorial office regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. Reviewers are encouraged to offer specific suggestions for improvement and support their evaluations with evidence from the manuscript.

Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers' feedback and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will make an editorial decision regarding the manuscript. The decision may include acceptance, minor or major revisions, or rejection. Authors will be promptly notified of the editorial decision along with reviewers' comments.

Confidentiality and anonymity:

All parties involved in the peer review process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, are expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the content of the manuscript and any related communications. Reviewers are required to refrain from disclosing their identities to the authors and discussing the manuscript with unauthorized individuals.

Timeliness and Efficiency:

ABBSSR is committed to ensuring a timely and efficient peer review process. Reviewers are requested to complete their evaluations within the stipulated timeframe to expedite the publication process while maintaining the highest standards of quality and thoroughness.

Appeals and Disputes:

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or raise concerns regarding the peer review process. Appeals should be directed to the Editor-in-Chief, who will address the issue in consultation with the editorial board and reviewers, if necessary.

Continuous Improvement:

ABBSSR is dedicated to continuously improving its peer review process to uphold scholarly integrity and foster academic excellence. Feedback from authors, reviewers, and readers is welcomed and valued in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the journal's peer review policy.
